Wine is a staple for dinners, receptions and tastings. Each client is different and I love when they have a taste for good wine! Your caterer may give you an example menu, especially if you sign contracts a year or more out. Your planner should request the seasonal menu as soon as it is available so you can finalize every detail without stress.
Don't be shy about asking for a tasting! A cohesive team of planner, catering manager, and even chef or Sommeliers can elevate your event menu to surprise and delight your guests.
Wine can be served in a number of ways and it's important to discuss your options with your planner. Catering staff can pre-pour a red and white for your guests arrival. This alleviates reception bars and avoids too long of a line forming. At seated dinners, bottles may be walked and poured, or left on the tables for guests to help themselves.
